Copaiba is the name for the oil distilled from the resin copal. The resin is taken from the trunk of the tree which grows in South America. This unique essential oil is useful to ease pain caused by inflammatory conditions such as arthritis and headaches. It helps the lungs function as they should and can be diffused for coughs, colds, and bronchitis. It is reputed to be anti-fungal and anti-bacterial. It can be diluted into a bath salt for hemorrhoids.
Copaiba is excellent for the skin and can be used to heal scars. It contains beta-carophyllene which interacts with our cannabinoid receptors to produce beta-endorphins in our bodies. This chemical reaction can help lighten our mood, ease stress, and encourage positivity.
Always dilute your essential oils in an unscented carrier oil like Sesame or Jojoba. Do not take essential oils internally. Always store essential oils out of heat and sunlight. Keep essential oils away from children and pregnant women.
