There are approximately 14 types of Frankincense in the world.  It is burned on incense charcoal to usher in positive feelings. It can help in cleansing a house or property of negativity. It is one of the few incenses which actually promote better breathing. Frankincense is one of the most healing substances known to humans. It is a resin (like a sap) which is collected from a bush in the Middle East. In Biblical times, shepherds allowed their goats to wander through Frankincense bushes so that the resin would stick to their fur. It was then carded out of the goat fur. This method is sometimes still used to collect both Frankincense and Myrrh. It is not uncommon to find bits of goat fur stuck into Frankincense and Myrrh resins.
