This blend is made to embody all the themes of a Mercury retrograde. During a planetary retrograde, a planet appears to be moving backwards in the sky due to an optical illusion. We tend to fear Mercury retrogrades. Plans go awry. Computers lose data. All things associated with communication are said to fail. We are told not to begin things or sign contracts.
However, the energies of a Mercury retrograde can be very helpful for all ideas beginning with RE: recall, review, reconnect, revamp, restart, reformulated, remediate, reflect, refresh, refurbish, you get the idea. Anything that you had started earlier but need to revisit (see how this works?) can be very successful during a Mercury retrograde.
I made this blend during a Mercury retrograde and true to form, I had to tweak it a bit to get it to be what I had imagined in my head. As I write this, three people including me have tried it on. It is dramatically different on all of us. On me, it begins smoky and sharp, develops into a slightly sweet resin before emerging as a warm Musk. On minion #1, it started as a subtle smoke before developing into a subtle, sweet wood. On minion #2, it started very sharp and herbal before morphing into a soft leather scent.
The base note includes Labdanum and Musk. The middle note is an Iris accented wood note. The top note features Ho wood and Thyme.
