Despair

The character of Despair from the Sandman comics is drawn as a round, naked woman who lives with rats and carves messages into her flesh with a sigil ring.  She sometimes dispenses cold and logical wisdom to those she visits.  She is the twin sister of Desire and often collaborates with Desire in various intrigues. She has been alive since there has been a being capable of feeling despair and will probably be around until there is no longer such a being. My tribute to her is based in the mourning scent of Myrrh and heightened with notes of salty tears and delusion.
